Finding Detroit Red Wings tickets has never been easy. The team has always delivered some of the strong and some might say legendary performances in the NHL and it has one of the strongest fan followings in the league. The tickets for Red Wings games always sell like hot cakes, and low priced sources for tickets are carefully guarded secrets. But with the Red Wings’ rich history and consistent performance, it’s really no surprise that they have a very strong and supportive fan base. The Detroit Red Wings has won the most number of Stanley Cup championships as of 2011 in the US, and it seems that there’s no stopping them in the coming seasons.
Because of its longstanding history with the league, it is also no surprise that the Detroit Red Wings has delivered some of the best performances in hockey history and is also home to some of the biggest names in the game. Former Red Wings players include Hall of Famers Sid Able, Ted Lindsay and Red Kelly, all team captains. Many of their players have also had their jersey numbers retired, like Steve Yzerman who is the longest-serving team captain in any major league team in the US. Today’s Red Wings players are only living up to the performances of past legends, and I plan on getting Red Wings tickets to see these historical moments in the making.
Red Wings tickets are also crucial for participating in longstanding Red Wings traditions like the throwing of the octopus. Every start of the playoffs games, an octopus is thrown onto the ice for good luck. Supposedly, the eight tentacles of the octopus represent the eight games that the Red Wings will have to win to bag another championship title.
I’ve witnessed this tradition a few times with Red Wings ticket in hand. Thankfully, the Red Wings almost always makes it to the playoffs and there will be a lot of opportunities to throw an octopus on the ice. If I miss the throwing of the octopus, there’s always Al the giant octopus that’s always present during playoffs at the Joe Louis Arena, named after head ice manager Al Sobotka.
With access to low priced Red Wings tickets, we’ll get to see the action live this season and for more seasons to come. And at the next playoffs game, we can sing Journey’s Don’t Stop Believin’, shouting "born and raised in south Detroit!"
